It’s Sunday morning and the television has skiing on from Europe. Strange how watching this seems to have a cooling effect when you are in the middle of summer downunder!
Sunday’s usually call for Stephanie’s Signature Breakfast (eggs, bacon, mushrooms etc. – in other words, the full catastrophe!). Today, however, my husband and I look at each other and decide we don’t really feel like that but it is Sunday so rather than go for the cereal selection or toast, I decide to make a breakfast smoothie.
This smoothie is a little more substantial than just a fruit smoothie as it has muesli in it so ticks all the boxes for not only being healthy but sustaining you through to lunchtime. This quantity serves one so just double or triple as necessary for however many people you are serving.
Beautiful Breakfast Banana Smoothie
1 Banana, peeled
4 Strawberries, fresh or frozen (I always find it useful to have frozen fruit in the fridge to fall back on)
1/2 cup Plain or Greek Yogurt
1/2 cup Muesli
1 cup of Milk or milk of your choice i.e. almond
2 tbspn Honey
Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Serve.
Very easy and a great start to the day.
Meanwhile, back on the piste………
